Policies

Questionnaire

We require a questionnaire to be filled out by all prospective buyers. Please fill it out honestly and completely.

Prices

Prices range from $175 to 275 depending on the hedgehog’s color and sex.

The price includes a starter supply of our food mix. Additional food is available for purchase.

Deposits

Once the babies reach 4 weeks of age, we require a $50 non-refundable deposit to reserve your hedgehog. We will e-mail you to let you know when your deposit is due or you can visit in person to pick out your hedgehog. Your deposit will hold your baby to weaning age and up to 10 weeks of age. If you are unable to pick up your baby by 10 weeks of age, we are willing to hold your hedgehog as long as you are paid in full. Once payments are received, they are non-refundable. We will email you to let you know when your deposit is received.

Please only reserve a hedgehog if you are sure that it is the right choice for you.

Visits

We encourage you to visit us to meet, hold, and learn about our hedgehogs. We hope that this will assist you in deciding if a hedgehog is the right pet for you. We ask that you make an appointment at least 48 hours in advance.

Wait time may be longer during certain times of the year.

Payment

We accept PayPal or cash. We do not accept personal checks under any circumstance. Payment in full is expected before any hedgehog leaves the premises.

If you are under age 18, we require a parent to be present at time of pickup.

Carriers

For your safety and the safety of your new pet, no hedgehog will leave our facility unless it is in a secure carrier. The carrier must either latch shut or zip completely shut (as in a cat carrier or small animal carrier). Velcro, snaps, and buttons are not acceptable as secure. If you do not have a carrier or do not purchase one on your own, let us know in advance so we can have a carrier available for you to purchase.

Refunds

We take pet ownership seriously and encourage you to think before you decide to purchase a hedgehog. We do not offer refunds. If you are not sure if a hedgehog is a suitable pet for you and your family, please contact us. We offer visitation, which gives you the chance to handle hedgehogs, and learn first-hand about hedgehog care including bathing and nail trimming, housing, and feeding.

If at any time you are no longer able to care for your hedgehog, for whatever reason, we will accept the animal back and will care for it or find it another suitable home. We do not offer any financial compensation for this service.

Health

We guarantee that all our hedgehogs, to the best of our knowledge, are free from any health problems. All baby hedgehogs are guaranteed to be free from congenital problems until age 6 months. If a hedgehog dies before the age of 6 months, we will replace the animal at no charge if given a necropsy report from a licensed veterinarian stating the nature of the problem was due to heredity or present at birth.

Hedgehogs over the age of 6 months do not carry a long-term health guarantee. They will be guaranteed to be free of any communicable diseases at the time they leave our premises. These guarantees do not include accident, negligence or any treatable or communicable illness.

Colors

Since a hedgehog will not develop its true color until five months of age (after quilling when the hedgehog loses baby quills and new quills fill in), we cannot guarantee the color of any hedgehog

Shipping

We do not ship at this time.
